Leipzig, January 18 (deutschenews24.de/dpa) - RB Leipzig will return out of the winter break as sharp as at the start of their debut Bundesliga season, according to coach Ralph Hasenhuettl and defender Marwin Compper.
Second-placed Leipzig lost the last league match before the hibernation period 3-0 at leaders Bayern Munich, and were also clobbered 5-1 by Ajax in a January friendly.
But Hasenhuettl and Compper were upbeat ahead of Saturday`s date against fourth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt, saying the team has prepared well for the second part of the season and is without any reason to change their style with high pressing and counter-attacking.
"I don`t think you should consider doing things differently and changing the style," Compper told dpa. "There were many games in the first half of the season in which the opponents respected and even feared the game we were playing.
"We shouldn`t say that we are unwavering. We should and must prove that every week."
Hasenhuettl told the club website that the team will in top shape Saturday and that he was happy with the preparations overall.
"We improved with every test and became fresher ... It was a short and good preparation, apart from the Ajax game in which we didn`t present ourselves so well," he said.
"We have implemented the things we wanted to do, and that`s why I am convinced that we will be in top shape for Frankfurt."
