Bonn, Nov 22 (deutschenews24.de/dpa) -- Freiburg will be without their top scorer Maximilian Philipp for the rest of the year after he suffered ankle ligament damage in Saturday`s Bundesliga defeat to Mainz.
Freiburg said the 22-year-old striker, who has five league goals this season, would be out for around four weeks.
Philipp went off early in the 4-2 defeat at Mainz and an examination Monday confirmed the injury.
Freiburg also have injury worries on central defender Caglar Soyuncu, who suffered concussion during the match. It is unclear how long he could be sidelined, the club said.
Freiburg, 10th in the league, greet league leaders Leipzig on Friday.
