Leipzig bleibt Spitzenreiter

Bonn, Dec 02 ( - RB Leipzig has successfully passed the next Maturity Examination in the German Football League and has successfully defended its standings. In the top game of Saturday night, the best league players from Schalke 04 won 2-1 (1: 1) in the top game of the league and claimed their three-point lead over Bayern Munich.

Schalke have lost their first defeat since the fifth matchday and have already 16 points behind the "Red Bulls".

Striker Timo Werner had brought the still undefeated Leipzig before 42.558 spectators in the sold out WM-Arena in the second minute with a converted penalty. However, the penalty kick was a mistake by referee Bastian Dankert (Rostock), as guest goalkeeper Ralf Fährmann had not touched the supposed foul Werner and Werner deceived the referee with a swallow.

"I told the referee that there was no contact from Fährmann, but he did not like it," Werner told Sky. The former Stuttgart player explained that Naldo had demolished him, so the penalty was correct.

Dankert denied that there was a confession from Werner. "I have to contradict this, there has been no conversation between Werner and me, we were together, but there was nothing," said the impartial at Sky. For Dankert it was crucial that, according to his perception, it had come to a contact of Fährmann and Werner. "In view of the TV pictures, this was a mistake," the referee said.

The Schalkeers were accordingly beside themselves. "It is a pity, in the first few seconds it is such a game-play scene, which can not be," said Schalke`s goalkeeper Ralf Fährmann at Sky: "It does not work, Werner says I have not touched him Get a yellow card. "

The Schalke players, who were overtaken by Leipzig`s power football, came half an hour later by Sead Kolasinac (31), but the Bosnian brought his team back to the losing track with an own goal shortly after the side change (47th).

Both coaches, in the first encounter ever, which were also under the motto "project against tradition", refused to make any changes in the starting line.

RB coach Ralph Hasenhüttl had spoken of the "most complete task in the previous season" before the whistle, but nothing could be seen of restraint. As usual, RB put on a hellish podium at the beginning.

Only 19 seconds after the whistle, the Leipzigers were awarded the unauthorized penalty, but with a class contender penalty. In the 4 th minute Yussuf Poulsen had a double chance to the 2-0 lead, but first S04 goalkeeper Fährmann shaved brilliantly, then the post stood in the way.

Schalke needed a long time to get used to the host`s attacking football and to bring some peace into the game. There was hardly anything to the front of the guests. The playhouse mostly ran through the three interior defenders, but they found hardly any playoffs at the front.

Only when RB had to change the injured Benno Schmitz against the unskilled lawyer Dominik Kaiser in the 23rd minute, the Hasenhüttl team was a bit more distressed. The equalizer by Kolasinac from an acute angle was indeed undeserved, but he gave the rascals a short time backwind. Shortly before half-time, Alessandro Schöpf after a long sprint gave the possible 2: 1.

The second half started, however, like the first: with a lightning gate for RB. After a free kick from the very agile Emil Forsberg Kolasinac headed the ball into their own goal. Afterwards, the Bundesliga newcomer kept up the pressure, the Schalke often came a step too late. In the 88th minute Schalke Naldo had to clear the line.

In addition to Forsberg, Stefan Ilsanker also liked internal defense in his householders. Schalke had his best players in goalkeeper Fährmann and Schöpf.
